The things we do for cats! 💌
And kittens, plus f-r-e-e & 99c Christian ebooks
Hello, lovely reader!
I hope you and those you love are happy, safe, and well. I'm praying for God's peace and love to rest on the world, and on you, too, especially in these troubled times.
By the time you read this, I will have left our Bulgarian home and be on my way back to Britain, and hubby will be getting ready to come here when the plane I travel on the return flight. The budget airline does fast turnarounds, so we won't even see each other to wave at!
But we need to minimise the length of time the cats are left alone in either house, and this is the only way to do it. I really don't want to go, especially leaving the adorable mother cat and kittens, but until I can get us the long-stay visa permitting us to remain here, we need to limit our stays. Plus hubby needs some time out from the stress of our UK location, too.
But the most time we will have spent in the same room in over six weeks is just a few hours. Good thing we have generous (and low-cost!) phone contracts so we get to talk, text, and email a lot even when we’re apart!
I love for you to pray that our travel all goes as intended, because hubby is rather stressed, and we don’t want the cats to also be stressed by being locked in too long.
And on to the book news!
My Chapel Cove Romances ebook set is 99c in the US & UK
If you enjoy sweet coastal romance with strong faith elements and don’t yet have a copy of my Chapel Cove Romances five-ebook set, now’s a good time to get a copy while it’s reduced to 99c in the US and UK until May 20. Stories involve reunion, second chances, marriage of convenience, later life love, fake engagement, and opposites attract. All are clean, uplifting, heartwarming, and show couples overcoming life’s challenges with God's help.
And two 99c cowboy romance ebook sets from a friend!
A limited time opportunity to get my lovely friend Alexa Verde’s entire Cowboy Crossing Romances series for less than $2! These are clean, faith-based romances, woven into two family sagas — a different family in each set. Set 1 is 99c or local equivalent on Amazon almost everywhere, set 2 is reduced to 99c in the US and UK only, until May 18. Sweet, tender, funny romances, some with a touch of suspense, all have a heartwarming happy ever after with a cute proposal!
This week’s f-r-e-e recommendation!
Here are the new f-r-e-e additions for my to-be-read library this week! No-cost this morning on Amazon but prices do change so be sure to check before hitting the buy button! All should be clean and faith-friendly, but as I haven’t read any of these stories yet, I hope I haven’t missed anything I wouldn’t normally choose to share!
Hannah's Hometown Hero by Lyn Cote is a small town Christian romance;
Prodigal Nights by Lisa Buffaloe is a Christian romance of renewal and redemption;
Lady Rosamund by Joyce Brandt Williams is a Christian historical romance;
Expired Vows by Laura Conway and Lisa Phillips is Christian romantic suspense.
This week’s group book promos!
Two group promos celebrating mothers this week!
A MOTHER’S HEART
This group promo includes a selection of sweet and clean romances, each featuring a single mom main character. Includes my stories Marry Me (marriage of convenience in a small Oregon coast town - also in my 99c Chapel Cove Romances set), The Real Thing (enemies to love/ mistaken identity in Edinburgh) , and His Father’s Son (single mom/reformed bad boy reunion romance in a rural Oregon town).
CHRISTIAN FICTION FEATURING MOMS
This group promo is for Christian fiction (may not all be romance) with a mother or mother figure as a central character. Includes my books Adore Me (older couple romance, also part of the Chapel Cove Romances 99c set!), Teapots & Tiaras (an aunt caring for her sister’s baby in London/ enemies to love romance), as well as His Father's Son and The Real Thing.
Though the organisers specified that all books should be genuinely clean, I can’t say for sure they all are, so please choose carefully!
Pet news
Well, the mother cat and her kittens are still in the house! I managed to get my bed back by clearing the tools out from under what will eventually be our dining table, and moved the kittens there. That seemed to be the area Little Girl was checking out he most, so I suspect she's been considering moving them there. I was fine sleeping on my mattress pads on the floor, but they’d become a lot more active, and I was concerned that when they managed to escape the box, they could fall off the bed. Under the table, they only had a few inches to drop onto folded mats.
Last night everything changed again! They all simultaneously succeeded in climbing out of the box. Problem was, they couldn't get themselves back in again! So, I removed the front of the box. They get out and can walk around in a carefully kitten-proofed room, but go back to the box to feed and snuggle. Here's a photo I took just before leaving the house:
Pickle, the tiniest one I worried might have a health problem when I first saw her because she was so small, skinny, and uncoordinated, is now active and vigorous! You can see couple of short and very amateur videos of the adorable kittens in active mode here and here!
I’m sad to leave these little ones today, but I know hubby will love them just as much as I do and take good care of them.
This week's randomly chosen ebook winners are Carolyn, Sandi, Phyllis, Eryca, and Amy. If your first name or the name in your email address matches one of the winners' names in the list above, reply letting me know which of my solo ebooks (sorry, sets are not included) you'd like as a free Bookfunnel download. You can see them all here. His Tender Mercy and Heart in Hiding aren't yet released, so if you opt for one of these, you'll be added to a wait list and get a copy when your choice is finally reader-ready.
This week's give.away — five subscribers who click any link in this email by Sunday, May 17, 2026 will be randomly chosen to win their choice of my ebooks and will be named in next week's newsletter.
Until next week, I'm praying you and those you love are happy and healthy, with many precious moments of peace and joy to brighten your days.
Blessings, and happy reading,

God created the world to be good, filled with things to lift our hearts and bring us joy. Yes, the world is broken now, and yet God hasn’t given up on it. So much of the goodness He created remains. So even when life brings challenges, look for the tiny moments of joy that remain. A single flower. A purring cat or a tail wagging dog. A sunset. A delicious meal. The scent of mint or lemon balm. A smile from a friend or a stranger. When we take even a moment to notice these things and give Him thanks, it lifts our hearts and minds nearer Him and brings peace and joy.

Love those pictures. Love your books more. Keep up the good work.
Amen! Beautiful post. Loved the videos.
